My Birth Story in Kyoto - 京都での出産体験

昨年8月京都市中京区の足立病院にて、私達家族に3番目の女の子（リア）が仲間入りしました。産まれたばかりの彼女を抱いていて、ちょっぴり甘くほろ苦い気持ちになりました。なぜなら、この子でおそらく（ほぼ間違いなく）出産は最後で、それが故に自分自身の新生児の赤ちゃんを抱くのもこれが最後だからです。ニューボーンフォトグラファーという職業がら新生児の赤ちゃんとはこれからもたくさん触れ合う機会がありますが。
新生児の赤ちゃんの髪の毛、花びらのように柔らかい肌、新生児独特のにおい。時が経ってからも懐かしく、暖かい気持ちにさせてくれる思い出です。3人目ともなると当然のようにわかっているのですが、子供の成長は早いものです。その中でも新生児の期間は瞬きする間に過ぎ去ってしまうぐらい一瞬のように感じます。一瞬しかない至福の瞬間です。

This last August, my family and I welcomed our third baby girl, Lia Marie. Holding her for the first time felt a little bittersweet, as I'm fairly sure this is my last baby, and thus this is quite possibly my last time holding my very own newborn.  Stroking her hair, touching her skin as soft as a flower petal, smelling her sweet newborn smell.  Those are memories and sensations I will cherish forever.  I already know all too well how fast it all goes by.  A mere blink in the story of life.  A little drop of heavenly pleasure.

I also wanted to add that I gave birth in Kyoto at Adachi Hospital.  I had such a great experience and I truly want to thank all the doctors and nurses for taking great care of both of us.
